can i vent?

Ok. So as EVERYONE knows, I want a large family! Kids are a huge passion of mine, whether it be my own or children in general. Here are some verses on children.

"Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior are the children of one’s youth. Blessed is the man who fills his quiver with them! He shall not be put to shame when he speaks with his enemies in the gate." Psalms 127:3-5

"He gives the barren woman a home, making her the joyous mother of children. Praise the LORD!" Psalms 113:9

See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that in heaven their angels always see the face of my Father who is in heaven. Matthew 18:10

So why when I tell people I want kids so they ALWAYS say:
"I'll give you mine for a day and you will change your mind."
"Once you have one, you won't want that many."
"Good luck!"

God CLEARLY tells us how much of a blessing they are. It is so frustrating and discouraging to hear mothers talking this way about their children. Do not get me wrong! I do know that it is going to be challenging and one of the most difficult jobs there are, but to love, and encourage children to grow in and know Christ....What could be better than that? No one ever is encouraging and telling of the blessings of children. To hear women of God talking this way about children makes me so upset.

Ok I am done venting. I have been really discouraged this week! I know mom's love their kids, I just wish they would be more encouraging to younger women! =)

I didn't know you have a blog! Woohoo!

Well said my friend! And a great reminder to us mommies that younger women are watching us and watching how we love and treat our families.

love you!

i found this via muffin top..you are so precious Sarah, i love this post..i went through about 6 years of infertility before Drew was born and i used to feel this exact same way..when we would share with people we were having trouble having a baby, (which is not an easy thing to share)they would say these stupid things..and it was frustrating..i wanted to scream "be grateful" but now i am a stressed mom sometimes and catch myself nearly making the same stupid joke/comments..we all have to watch our idle words i guess..and what Kramer said (she is SOOO wise)

praying for you and so thankful for your love for our little ones at Champion..

Love, Holly

Raising children is by far the hardest job a mother will ever have. BUT, it's also the MOST REWARDING one as well! It's easy to let your exhaustion and frustration take over, and words that you don't really mean come out of your mouth, BUT moms know that children are indeed a blessing from the LORD!! So, when you hear a mom say something silly like that, just say a silent prayer for her. She just needs a little reminder and encouragement to help her remember the true joy of raising children!!
